The Honest Company Diaper Review
Are The Honest Company Diapers honestly good? Hearing so many great things about them, I wanted to give them a try myself. If I am being honest, I was hesitant to try these diapers out due to their price. They are outside of my normal diaper budget so I often skipped over them. However, on my daughter’s 2nd birthday these were gifted to her. I was very excited to give these a try and see if they are worth the investment to purchase again in the further. In this blog, I will be sharing with you 3 pros and cons I experienced while using The Honest Company Diapers.

A little bit about Honest
The Honest Company was created by the beautiful Jessica Alba. She created this brand when she became a mother. While looking for brands to use on her little ones, she realized there were not that many brands out there that she could wholeheartedly trust. So instead of struggling to find different companies to do different things, she just made a company in which she knew had ingredients that are safe for the world and her babies.
On The Honest Company website, they do a fantastic job at providing a detailed description of the ingredients they use and don’t use in their products. Their ingredients are 95% natural, 95% certified organic, 50% plant-derived ingredients, and are vegan. This means they are not tested on animals or have animal ingredients such as beeswax, honey, or collagen just to name a few.
They create a large range of products. I personally have used their baby and postnatal products.
Diaper 411
Diapers range from newborn to size 6. Price can range from $25 a pack to $55 a box.
OverNight diapers range from size 3 to size 6. Price ranges from $26 a pack to $44.
Training Pants range between 2T to 5T. The average price is around $44.
A box of diapers can range between 35 diapers per pack up to 245 diapers per box. All diaper prices and quantity vary depending on where you purchase from.
On the Honest website, they do provide a monthly subscription of diapers and wipes for $79.95 a month. This includes 7 packs of diapers and 4 packs of baby wipes. This is a great option for busy parents and allows us to do our part to remain socially distant.
Where can you find The Honest Company products?
I have found and seen these products at Amazon, Walmart, Target, and of course on their personal website along with multiple other stores. I do love that I am able to order online and walk-in stores to find and purchase products.
Reviewing prices, I found that Amazon had better deals. I was able to find a larger option of different quantities and various prices.
Pros
- No one can deny how cute these diapers are. Each box comes with 2 different designs per box. Each size is different and has a variety of different designs. If you purchase directly from their website, you are able to select what designs you want to purchase. If you purchase anywhere else, the designs are picked for you. My box had the preselected design of strawberries and rabbits.
2. Performance. The things all parents want to know. How well did they hold? They do have an extra absorbent pad in the middle. There is no design to indicate that there is. I know we are used to opening diapers and seeing a blue or green pad or a design to indicate that there is something extra there. But don’t let that fool you because there definitely is. These diapers held her and absorbed well. They did not leak and when I changed her, her skin was not wet.
3. Last thing I liked: my daughter’s skin did not have any reaction to the diapers. As mentioned, they are natural, organic, and vegan products which when all combined, my daughter’s skin loved it all.
Cons
- Size: The diapers did run small on my daughter. For the most part, she is in a size 6. Although her weight is a little under the size 6 recommendation, for the most part, they fit her best. My daughter’s current weight is 29 pounds and Honest Diapers recommend a child to be 35+ pounds to use size 6. Given the fact that my daughter is 6 pounds under the recommended weight and the diapers fit snug around her waist led me to the conclusion that they run small.
2. No wetness indicator. At first, I did not think much of it. But, not having one showed me how much I rely on it to guide me on when I need to change the diaper. This is a helpful guide as well in letting me know what she did and how to approach changing her.
3. Elasticity. The back band did not have much of a stretch. Because of this, I do feel that it is what led to the diapers no fulling wrapping around her waist and running small. If there was more of a stretch I think the size would have been perfect on her. Since she was at their highest size, I could not bump her up to try.
Final Thoughts
Do I like the diapers? Yes, I do. If I would have tried these diapers when my daughter was smaller and could bump her up a few sizes, I think I would have fallen in love with them. Due to them running small on her and maxing out at their highest size, they were not my favorite in this chapter of her diaper journey. However, that does not reflect the diapers as a whole. I think this is a fantastic brand, product, and definitely worth the price. Overall, they are Oh Mother approved! When baby #2 comes around, these diapers will be part of my normal purchase and part of my baby registry!
